Quotation Analysis #1

"Kill them all, I think. Fight nobly and honorably and may you kill them all" (422).

This is John's thoughts during the war. He was using his animal telepathy to communicate with the huge Mogadorian beast. When John saw this beast, he knew something was different about it from the get-go. Unlike the other beasts, this one had no rage in its eyes and its cries sounded more sorrowful. John could read its thoughts and how its hard life and abuse from the Mogadorians led it here on Earth. He then proceeded to tell the beast about his own life, like how he fell in love and how he was sorry for what the beast had to go through. He also told the beast about his old home on Lorien and what the Mogadorians did to it. John proceeded to ask the beast to fight the Mogadorians because he was too weak and said the above quote.
This quote also summarizes John's entire mentality of his fight with the Mogadorians. He insists on fighting nobly and honorably, instead of being cowardly and running. John knows what he must face and finds courage within himself to face it at all times.
